How Rank Works

Stellar Ops uses a ranking system to allow it's player's to advance to new levels of game play.

When a player completes a game, they are awarded points based on their successes in that game. When a player receives a certain amount of total game points, they will be promoted to the next level of advancement. This new rank will allow them to play in games that are restricted by rank.

Points are awarding to all players finishing the game, with extra points going to first, second and third place players.

EXAMPLE - A game is created limiting ranks to Lt. Commanders and above. Only players of those ranks are allowed to enter the game prior to its starting date.

NOTE - Once a game begins, players of other ranks can enter the game, provided that there are any slots left. Also, if a player in the example game drops out, any rank can take over the now-open game slot.

The Fleet Admiral

The Fleet Admiral is the highest ranking Admiral at any given time. If a player gains sufficient rank points to de-throne the current Fleet Admiral, the new player will be promoted to Fleet Admiral, while the old Fleet Admiral will be demoted back to Admiral. This is the only rank that behaves in this manner.

Getting on the fast track

The amount of rank points a player gains while participating in a game is partially decided by the differences in ranks in that game. If a lieutenant participates in a game that is mostly Commanders and Admirals, he will receive extra rank points due to the difficulty of playing with advanced players.
